Samarpita Bajpai [ view artist bio ]

Performance and lecture give insight into the culture and traditions of India. Samarpita Bajpai explains the structure and history of Indian classical dance forms, performs dances from two major styles , and answers questions. Each dance is preceded by a short narration to illuminate the meaning and cultural context of the dance.

Requirements: Prefer hardwood stage at least 20' x 20'; no carpets; one microphone on podium or boom stand; sound system with CD player; LCD projector with compatible laptop, white screen or white wall space behind performance area and room that can be darkened; stage area cleared 15 minutes prior to performance.
