The Giving Tree


 Using Shel Silverstein's book The Giving Tree, students interpret the words and images of the story into movement phrases. They explore the similarities between how authors and choreographers create their work. They learn that while authors use words and choreographers use movement, both create images that communicate a message.

Grade Levels: K,1,2

Fees: $110 for 1 workshop; $95 each for 2 or more workshops on the same day / The break between workshops must not exceed 90 minutes to receive the reduced rate.

Availability: Tuesday & Friday after 1 pm, Wednesday 8am -1 pm

Requirements: A large, clear space for dancing, preferably a gymnasium or multi-purpose room; floor space cleaned prior to the artist's arrival
