Making Board Games

Where do board games come from?  In this workshop we start with a simple game and students work in groups to find ways to make it more interesting.  Students can change the playing board, modify the rules, and introduce dice and other equipment.  We evaluate the improved games to see if they are complete, consistent, fair, attractive, and fun!  Board games, like math, are rule based systems.  Students will learn that a small change in the rules can have a large effect on the whole system.
